Mt Pleasant Sea Scouts is a Christchurch-based Sea Scout group, part of Scouts Aotearoa, running programmes for Keas, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers.
Who we are
We're a volunteer-run Sea Scout group based on the Mt Pleasant / Redcliffs side of Christchurch, offering young people a mix of traditional Scouting and water-based activities — boating, knots, camping, hiking, and teamwork skills — in a fun, safe, outdoors environment. We're proudly part of Scouts Aotearoa, New Zealand's national Scouting movement.
Our Sections
Scouting is organised by age group — here's where your child fits in.
Cubs
Ages 8–11
Challenge and fun take over, with hikes, weekend camps and their first taste of water-based activities on the water.
Scouts
Ages 11–14
Building leadership and self-confidence through outdoor pursuits like sailing, camping, and adventurous expeditions.
Venturers
Ages 14–18
Older youth take the lead, planning and running their own hands-on activities and adventures.
Meeting nights, times and our den location vary by section — get in touch and we'll fill you in.
